Jon Bergvidsson

Born of Irish and Icelandic stock, Jon's father was a successful trader with links to Dublin, the Isle Of Man, Gloucester, London, and latterly the Far East. This gave Jon money and influence to travel around England entertaining people with his stories and games of skill and chance. On his way back to Ireland, Jon got involved in a dispute between the Viking lord of the Wirral, Hrolf Dugnalsson, and a neighbouring Saxon petty lord, Aelfric of Cedde. Fighting for the winning side, Jon was awarded two hides of land by Hrolf. Since then he has shown his skill in fighting on many occasions, and now owes fealty to Songi the current lord of the Wirral, and owns five hides of land. He has also set up his own trading links with the Zemgaļi tribe of the Baltic region, importing worked and unworked amber. He lives next to the Tue brook, near Krok's farm, with his wife Hella.
