... and so did the holy pilgrim cross the fudal lands of his theign until he happened upon Junction 2 of the M53...
From The Hrolfsaga, Circa 944 A.D.

As far as the society Regia Anglorum is concerned, the British Isles are divided into different regions (or land grants) that are allocated to the member groups. As can be expected, the Wirhalh Skip-Felag land grant contains the entire of the Wirral Peninsula. After all, we are the Wirral Vikings of the society!

    Map of the group's area
The region of the Wirhalh Skip-Felag, within the realm of Regia Anglorum

Historically, Norwegian Vikings reached Wirral from Ireland in 902 AD, and were granted lands by Aethelflaed, the "Lady of the Mercians". This generosity was repaid by an attack on Chester, but no punitive action against the incomers appears to have happened. From place-name evidence, a large autonomous Norse community existed on Wirral well into the 13th Century; however, records from later than Domesday are rare, and the region submerges from view until the time of the Civil War.

Today, most of the group's members come from the Wirral Peninsula, but a few hail from the yet unclaimed lands of North Wales. An increasing number regularly brave crossing the Mersey from the lands owned by Otringemelr.

Our neighbours are Otringemelr to the north (based in Southport), Cestrescir to the East (recently reformed, and based in Stockport; they allowed us to have Chester from their lands), and Les Miles de Marches to the South (based in Shrewsbury, and boasting a ship and a war horse!). North Wales is currently unclaimed land in Regia terms.
